Can the "islands" of jazz in Sardinia be connected to each other? Arcipelaghi , the new project by pianist Guido Coraddu together with Simone Sedda and Fabio "Bax" Talani , attempts to answer this question: and on Friday 27th at 8 pm , at Casa Saddi di Pirri in via Fieramosca 17 , the trio will prove it with their absolute live debut .

In a lineup that features Coraddu on keyboards and synthesizer, Talani on bass, and Sedda on drums , the three's idea stems from Maria Giacobbe's famous definition of Sardinia, in the novel that inspired the project's name: that is, more than an island, our region presents itself almost as a collection of archipelagos . And by applying the concept to fellow countrymen, the ensemble reconstructs the varied and diverse heritage of intuitions, perspectives, and musical languages with which the island has been able to combine a millennia-old identity with contemporary art .

Flowing with agility between the masterpieces signed by the well-known Paolo Fresu , Gavino Murgia and Enzo Favata , arriving at the recent Italian interpreters of the genre, Arcipelaghi gives these compositions an original reading, which restores unity to the "islands" of jazz in the territory . Coraddu, already active with the projects Trèulas , Musica ex Machina and a solo career that began with " Miele Amaro " (2022), thus returns to an artistic meeting with his fellow Musica ex Machina Sedda , already active with Ratapignata and with his label Hopetone Records , who is joined by Talani , who in the past collaborated with Paolo Nonnis , Brian and Yan Maillard , Paolo Carrus , Valerio Scanu and many others.
