In 2024 Sardinia's Domestic Product will touch +0.5%.

The estimate is from the Cgia - Association of Artisans and Small Businesses - which analyzed the data from the main statistical institutes.

With an increase in GDP of 0.49% the Island will be - after Campania (+0.57%) - the Southern region with the best data.

This year too, however, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Veneto will be the regions that will drive the real national GDP which, according to the main statistical institutes, should be around +0.7%, compared to +0.1% in Germany, the +0.7% in France and +2.1% in Spain.

In detail, the estimate for Lombardy is +0.95%, while Emilia Romagna should grow by 0.86% and Veneto by 0.80%, with the three regions added together producing approximately 41% of the National GDP and 53% of Italian exports.

The growth of the Southern regions is much more limited: Sicily +0.46%, Basilicata +0.37%, Puglia +0.36%, Abruzzo and Calabria +0.23% and Molise +0 ,22%.

As highlighted by the Bank of Italy, in 2024 Italy's growth will be very limited and mostly supported by the good performance of services (in particular tourism) and exports.

Industry in the strict sense, however, is destined to undergo a decisive downsizing: in particular - notes Cgia - in the fashion sector (textiles, clothing, footwear and accessories), automotive and metallurgical (steel production, semi-finished products and of precious items). Investments are also not expected to undergo any particular increases, while household consumption is destined to rise in the second part of the year, after the decline recorded between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.
