Sardinian exports on the rise: +8.9% since the beginning of the year

Sardinian exports increasing compared to 2023: according to Istat data, growth in the first three months of the year was 8.9 percent .
The island's share of total national exports recorded a slight increase: from 1.1 to 1.3 percent.
In the first three months of 2023, Sardinia sold products worth 1,797 million euros outside Italy. A figure that grew in 2024 to reach 1,957.
The driving force is above all products linked to oil refining , where the increase exceeds 11 percent. The island, however, loses something in exports linked to agricultural and fishing products: minus 4.2 percent. A decrease which however leaves the 0.1% share of the national total unchanged.
The loss (-37%) regarding extraction activities from quarries and mines is more significant . While the export of manufacturing activities is growing (+9%) with a peak in textile and leather products (almost 18% more). The item "chemical substances and products" also performed well: growth of 21.5%.
Pharmaceutical, chemical and botanical items did very well with a net increase of 55.7%. Exploit (but irrelevant national share) in the computer and electrical appliance sectors.
Products linked to waste treatment and sanitation activities fell by 81%.
