Sardinian DOP oil, Antonello Fois president of the protection consortium

Antonello Fois, former president of the Apos producers association, was unanimously elected president of the Consortium for the protection of Sardinia PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The election took place this morning during the assembly held at the “Il Giglio” farmhouse in Oristano. Antonella Orrù, already president, will have the position of vice president together with Alessandro Ibba for the next term.
The Council also includes Luca Carrone representing Coop Valle del Cedrino, the representative of the production category, Maria Francesca Carta; the councilor representing the transformation category, Antonio Secchi (representing Secchi & C); the representative of the transformation category, Cristiano Mura; the representative of the Packaging category, Carmela Monni representing Accademia Olearia and Gianfranco Deidda.
«I am honored to lead this important Consortium which represents an important part of the Sardinian olive sector», underlines Fois at the end of the meeting. «We will continue the work in the wake of the previous guide which was able to create important paths for the valorisation of PDO extra virgin olive oil in Sardinia. We are aware that there is still a lot of work to do and for this reason we will carry it forward with broad sharing of an already virtuous path, aware of the great potential that this sector has for the agricultural and agri-food economy of Sardinia".
