Traditions, tourism and solidarity. The Molentargius natural park. And then the mountains, the Seven Brothers. And again: the beauties of the sea at Is Mortorius, the testimonies of the past, from the oldest, the Roman Villa, to the most recent, the Batterie Falchi. And then the typical houses such as Casa Angioni and churches. And there is also the golf course.

This is how Quartu describes itself in the calendar “Logus e bistiris quartesus”, “Places and clothes in Quartes”, promoted by the Campidano Cultural Center.

The aim is to remember that Quartu has many treasures to show even to those who choose the beaches of southern Sardinia as a destination for their summer holidays. An invitation to take a look at what is happening on the outskirts of the Sardinian capital in a city that has grown in recent decades with new neighborhoods. But that keeps intact the characteristics and beauties of the past.

Traditional clothes and jewels from Susy Monni's personal collection were used for the realization. Like singing models, sports personalities such as Giuseppe Solla world champion triathlon double Hawaii 2004. And Marco Piras, air force marshal, scout leader beloved by the kids in the city, public administrator for many years, recently passed away: the calendar was dedicated to his memory.

"We have created - explain Susy Monni and Gigi Ibba and the Campidano Cultural Center - many calendars over the years and we have distributed them all over the world, including circles of emigrants. But for this calendar I was moved, because Marco Piras and the daughter, in the height of summer to put on the clothes and take pictures. Marco was already sick, he was suffering, but he hugged me and told me that I was making his dream come true of wearing the rich dress of the Quartesi gentlemen. 40 degrees, in the end everyone was happy with this wonderful experience ".

The collection of photos that will mark the days and months of 2022 will be donated to associations and parishes. The sales will be used to carry out works and activities for those who need it most.
