Sardinian Cisl at congress, secretary Ledda: «We need a pact for development»
Also in Cagliari was the national leader Daniela Fumarola, protagonist of a wide-ranging intervention that began with insularity: «It is a factor of diseconomies that must be compensated with adequate public policies»"Insularity is a factor of diseconomies that must be compensated with adequate public policies". Daniela Fumarola , the national secretary of the Cisl , said this in Cagliari. She arrived on the island to attend the 16th regional congress that will elect the new Sardinian leader tomorrow: the reconfirmation of Pier Luigi Ledda is a given. The outgoing number one himself opened the proceedings this morning with the proposal of a "Development pact for Sardinia", bringing together not only the unions, but also the Region and the trade associations.
Fumarola summarized the geographical condition of our Island as follows: "It has a profound impact on infrastructure, transportation, services and competitiveness, but the State has the duty to guarantee equal rights and opportunities to all regions", the secretary underlined. "In particular, a true territorial, air and maritime continuity must be ensured, which responds to the needs of citizens and businesses by filling the delays in connections and internal networks".
Then the energy chapter : «Strategic choices are needed to overcome, also in this case, the heavy asymmetry compared to the rest of the country». Fumarola confirmed the line of the Sardinian Cisl, in favor of methane gasification and the backbone. «Renewables must be included in the circular economy, but the ecological transition cannot translate into layoffs and industrial desertification : Sulcis, Porto Torres and Sarroch must become laboratories of sustainable rebirth, reducing the environmental impact and creating new development. We must transform the critical issues into an extraordinary push for development». Finally «the productive vocations on which we must continue to focus: I am referring to craftsmanship, agri-food, sustainable tourism, personal services and green economy supply chains ».
Fumarola liked the line of the secretary Ledda on the Development Pact: «We need a good policy based on the protagonism of the world of work , a path that can only be built with the co-responsibility of institutions, businesses and social partners». An objective, that of unity, that Ledda recalled in his speech by putting on the table the great emergencies of Sardinia. «There are many problems», the Sardinian leader remarked. « From health to depopulation , but we need planning that puts employment at the center». In the black list, which «makes our Island so fragile», Ledda listed «the price of energy», looking above all «at the relaunch of industrialization». Finally Sos Enattos , with the Einstein Telescope project, «an opportunity that helps us a lot to think of a new scenario of growth and development for Sardinia».
