Sardinia and its excellences welcome visitors to the 26th edition of “Artigiano in Fiera” , the event which – from 3rd to 11th December – enlivens the spaces of Rho Fiera Milano.

For the occasion, the island's artistic handicraft and agri-food companies - which arrived in the Lombard capital as part of the institutional promotion and enhancement activities organized by the Region -   gathered in the approximately 2 thousand square meters of Pavilion 2.

The unmistakable scents and colors of the island are the visiting card with which the Region presents itself to the simple curious and to the many Sardinians, emigrants and non-emigrants, eager to discover and re-discover the island, stand after stand, as in a staged route between the various countries.

The offer of micro and small companies in this 2022 edition is rich. It starts from the typical products of the area - increasingly known and requested in the rest of Italy and abroad - to arrive at the artifacts of the island artisans , real works of art: jewels made of coral and filigree, knives, fabrics, pottery . And again: clothing and furnishing accessories, leather, stone, wood and cork products.

THE MASTER OF IRON – «I believe that the Artisan at the Fair is an excellent opportunity to tell what Sardinia is today », comments the master of iron Roberto Ziranu. The craftsman from Orani , who brought his famous sails, corsets, plates and butterflies to Milan, confirms that «there is a lot of curiosity and a lot of attention for my works, especially from the Sardinians in Lombardy who are looking for me and the Milanese who are fascinated by these colors. The fair is a new way to tell us about ourselves . We're coming out of two years of difficulty , the pandemic has taken something away from us but we have to be strong. I think this is one of the best opportunities to be able to showcase ourselves and be able to start again ».

THE CERAMIST – Among the stands, also that of Carboniense Massimo Boi , who exhibits his ceramics « made with the "raku" technique, a very particular process. We have innovated the production, we have been coming here for many years - says the ceramist - and we have always been appreciated. Our Region is the one that brings the most craftsmanship and those who come to visit us know Sardinia and our productions ».

DYEING – «We re-propose the art of dyeing on our woolen fabrics in a modern key – explains Maurizio Savoldo , craftsman and owner of “La Robbia” in Atzara – with clothing and furnishing accessories . People are struck by the colors that natural colors are able to give. They are lively, vibrant colors that convey emotions. Over time we have built up our clientele here in Milan, so much so that during the Covid period we shipped the products to our Lombard customers. It was a nice confirmation » .

THE KNIVESEfisio Spiga's knives also conquer the scene, which come to life in his Pirri laboratory. «Here we are known – he says – and our product is guaranteed and sought after. With the increase in energy bills and costs, this is a difficult moment, however we are positive and are working to maintain the quality of our products ».

I CORALLI – «We have to thank the Region – finally underlines Giovanni Castaldo of Sanna Gioielli from Oristano – who trusted us and allowed us, in a difficult period, to come here where there are more opportunities to gain visibility. Our core business is filigree and coral processing . We are a small artisan company which, thanks to this help, has managed to sell abroad , even reaching China and Japan ».
