The official announcement will come today, when the Regional Council approves the resolution setting the local elections in Sardinia for Sunday 7 and Monday 8 June , two weeks later than in the rest of Italy.
149 municipalities are voting in this spring election, including Elmas, where outgoing mayor Maria Laura Orrù resigned a month ago (while announcing her candidacy, however), a year and a half ahead of her normal term.
The voters involved are instead approximately 440 thousand.
Municipalities vote in L'Unione Sarda, available on newsstands and in the digital edition.
