Construction sites are underway, facilities are reopening, and others are being renovated after years of waiting. Mayor Massimo Zedda takes stock of the municipal sports plan and affirms the pace of the projects begun over the last year and a half.

"We're making up for delays that have accumulated for too long," says the mayor, noting that the administration is working simultaneously on major projects—from the stadium to the new arena—and on the maintenance of existing facilities.

"The sports hall on Via Rockefeller already has renovated and more comfortable stands, while updated changing rooms and restrooms are on the way. Work on the safety systems next door, necessary to obtain competition approval, is about to begin, and the tender for a new manager will be published shortly. The skate park, meanwhile, has been completed and is now ready to open," he explains.

Work is also underway at the Monte Mixi sports center, where work is underway on Gym A and the track expansion project. "The Santoru athletics field will also receive new lighting. Work on the softball and American football fields in Terramaini is also complete."

And he continues: «The Municipality has already entrusted the design of the gym in Via degli Stendardi, which has been hit by fires several times, and in June the construction site will start to redo the gym in Via Schiavazzi», but the restyling of the pitch in Via Figari is also on the Municipality's agenda.

And then he announces that tenders will be published shortly for the concession of three facilities: the Cipla field in Fonsarda, the tennis center on Via Fracastoro, and the sports center on Via Crespellani in Mulinu Becciu.

"Administration isn't always quick," Zedda admits, "but we've accomplished a lot and will continue to do so, with daily work involving many different services."
