During the 41st edition of the national assembly of the Association of Italian Municipalities in which the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, was elected president, the mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda, was delegated by the new president to Ecology, recycling and reuse of waste.

The mayor of Cagliari is also part of the Anci presidency office. «A delegation of responsibility», comments Zedda, «I thank the new president Manfredi for his trust; it will be a pleasure to work together with Anci, with the other colleagues and fellow mayors for the future and the good of the Municipalities of Italy. Representing the regional capital with the highest rate of separate waste collection in Italy, I will deal with issues relating to the circular economy, the environment and sustainability, waste disposal and a system of incentives that rewards virtuous communities».

Municipalities, Zedda continues, «are the bodies closest to citizens and can adopt daily actions aimed at improving services, ensuring positive effects both for collective well-being and for the environment, a heritage to be safeguarded and protected. The action of the individual has repercussions on the entire city, which is why the involvement of people is also fundamental in administrative processes».
