From Sunday, July 27th until August 5th, a large group of young people from the diocese of Cagliari will participate in the Jubilee of Youth 2025. There will be 190 of them, 40 of whom are from the diocese of Iglesias , ready to embark on an experience of faith and sharing.

The pilgrimage will begin on Sunday, July 27th, from the port of Cagliari, departing at night for Naples. After disembarking and transferring to Rome, participants will be hosted by the capital's parishes and will experience intense days of spirituality, education, culture, and encounters.

"This occasion," said the director of the Diocesan Youth Ministry, Father Mariano Matezu, "will not only strengthen the bonds between young people from different dioceses, but will also represent an opportunity to experience a renewed sense of spirituality and communion . It will be an opportunity to hear the voice of Pope Francis echo, who in his Jubilee Bull addressed a special invitation to young people: 'Be the protagonists of your own lives; don't let someone else decide for you.' We are certain that, upon returning home, they will take with them not only indelible memories, but also a renewed drive to live their faith with passion and commitment in our diocesan community."

THE PROGRAM – The program includes daily community prayers, experiences of proximity, celebrations, and opportunities for dialogue with the city. On Tuesday the 29th at 7:00 PM, Mass will be held in St. Peter's Square , followed by an evening celebration. On Wednesday the 30th, young people will participate in the catechesis entitled "12 Words to Express Hope," given by Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi , Archbishop of Cagliari. and Secretary General of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI), hosted by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Via Marsala). The afternoon will be dedicated to cultural and spiritual tours of Rome's streets and significant sites. On Thursday the 31st, at 10:30 a.m., a Mass with the Sardinian dioceses will take place in the parish of Santa Maria delle Grazie al Trionfale. Afterward, the "You Are Peter" walk will lead the young people to St. Peter's Square, where the national meeting with all the Italian groups will take place. The following day, Friday, August 1st, will be dedicated to the sacrament of reconciliation and the passage through the Holy Door. On Saturday, August 2nd, in the afternoon, the group will travel to Tor Vergata for a long evening of testimonies, music, and prayer, culminating in the Vigil with the Holy Father in Tor Vergata. On Sunday, August 3rd, at 9 a.m., the final Mass with the Pope will be celebrated in Tor Vergata. The departure for Sardinia is scheduled for Monday, August 4th.
