Bad fall from a horse during the performance of a team during the Santu Bainzu palio competition, underway in Porto Torres.

A young man, originally from Ollolai, while racing with two horses, lost his balance and fell to the ground, hitting his head violently on the sand track.

Bleeding on the face but conscious, the boy was immediately rescued by the Avis ambulance, already in place to provide security for the event. Moments of fear for the public who witnessed the scene.

After receiving initial treatment from health workers, the injured man was immediately transferred to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari.

The race then continued with the final descents of the Palio.
