Tempio Mayor Gianna Masu has declared a day of mourning for tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, coinciding with the funeral of Mario Manconi, the 22-year-old Tempio native who died suddenly of a serious illness. A statement from the mayor states that the decision was made "in response to the profound grief and unanimous emotion of the City Council and the entire community. The young Mario Manconi was well-known, loved, and appreciated in many social and cultural circles in the city. The day of mourning will be in effect from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., coinciding with the funeral, to allow the widest possible participation of the community in the funeral. City Hall flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the day." In the decree, the City Council urges all businesses to suspend their business activities during the funeral, as a sign of respect and sympathy for the family.
