One landfill leads to another in Sassari . And, as is often the case, it's the outskirts and the local roads that suffer the incivility of those who "dispose" illegally. This also happens in Viziliu, in the Li Punti neighborhood , where, on Murruzzulu Street, part of the vegetation is covered by a layer of waste.

Just a few meters from an Enel pylon, you can find building materials, as well as bulky items, including a refrigerator, and everything from clothes to gas cylinders, toys, and containers . This garbage remains there for a long time, prompting complaints from residents who are asking the municipality to install camera traps to curb the phenomenon and identify those who dump waste illegally in the Sassari countryside.

On the other hand, Palazzo Ducale has promised zero tolerance in this regard and announced months ago the replacement of 66 cameras, equipped with artificial intelligence systems, located both in the city and in the suburbs. Local police detected 420 violations in 2025 alone, and 30 people were reported for environmental crimes caused by the abandonment and illegal management of waste.
