Recovery operations for the yacht "Angiola II," which sank on August 11 in the waters off Capo Ferro, near Arzachena, began yesterday, September 3rd. The operation has been entrusted to three specialized companies from Northern Sardinia, appointed by the owner, who are deploying personnel and technical equipment to refloat the vessel and proceed with its subsequent removal.
After the sinking, the area was monitored by the La Maddalena Coast Guard to check for any pollution and prevent any consequences for the marine environment.
The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has also been involved in these matters. The recovery operations are considered technically complex and will require multiple phases. The goal is to completely remove the yacht and restore normal safety conditions in the affected waters.
The recovery of the "Angiola II" therefore represents the main step following the inspection operations begun in the weeks following the shipwreck. At present, attention remains focused on the safe execution of the maneuvers and the vessel's definitive removal from the waters of Capo Ferro.
