Reports and a hefty fine for failure to comply with workplace safety regulations. Carabinieri and the Labor Inspectorate raided a waste collection company in Santa Teresa Gallura.

The military personnel from the local station, together with their colleagues from Nil and the personnel from the Labor Inspectorate, focused their attention on the company premises where employees work daily and on the fleet of vehicles used for waste collection.

Several shortcomings were found: deficiencies in the site's structure and logistics, and equipment and work vehicles not subjected to the maintenance essential to guarantee the required safety standards.

The employer was hit hard, fined €5,700. At the same time, a complaint was filed with the judicial authorities and instructions were issued to remedy all the irregularities identified.
