The “ Work from Ollolai ” project takes shape further and sees the first American digital nomad land in Barbagia. We are talking about Clarese Partis : User Experience designer, researcher and Californian consultant who will work for a month in the country. Thus adhering to the idea promoted by the Municipality of Ollolai in collaboration with the cultural association Sa Mata - the tree of ideas. Key objective: to develop a network of international "residences" for professionals who will live and work remotely in the homeland of Ospitone.
Enthusiastic about joining the community, Partis says, "I intend to share the knowledge gained over the years with aspiring UX or UI designers, so they can not only make a living in this craft, but also choose the companies to work for." «Digital services and new technologies – he continues – are now essential in our lives, and it is important that they are usable by everyone. I will help those who intend to design 2.0 experiences with attention to accessibility, inclusiveness and sustainability".
The mayor, Francesco Columbu , was particularly satisfied: «We welcome Clarese with open arms. His presence together with that of the other professionals who will arrive in the coming months will help revitalize our country . «Ollolai – adds Columbu – is a context in which one can work remotely, combining a lifestyle made up of nature, tranquillity, healthy food, traditions. A welcoming community, of beautiful interpersonal relationships, then generating word of mouth, with new opportunities for growth and exchange for the inhabitants".
The adhesions received so far for the project are important, as told by Veronica Matta , President of Sa Matta and director of the initiative. «More than 1000 requests. From Peru to Mexico, passing through South Africa, India, Ireland and Germany up to Russia and Poland». «There are many digital nomads who travel the world - continues Matta - but we will not be able to satisfy all those who have asked to participate. In Italy, the Legislative Decree still appears too nebulous and non-implementing. Elsewhere, however, there are already 50 nations that grant special visas and tax breaks for digital nomads».
Ollolai believes in it and lays the foundations for valuable future initiatives. After houses for 1 euro, a new formula to revitalize the territory. Creating development.
