Even more challenging times lie ahead for patients in Cagliari's emergency rooms. From Monday, April 20th, until early August , the Policlinico's emergency department will be undergoing work in some areas that is deemed "urgent and can no longer be postponed."

Specifically, in the first phase (until mid-May), the work will involve the area in front of the shock room, the decontamination room, and part of the medical rooms. The second phase will involve the area in front of the plaster room (until mid-June), the third will involve the flooring of the hot room (until early July), and finally the flooring of other medical rooms, again in front of the shock room (until early August). The timeframes, as always in these cases, are approximate and conservative.

"These works are necessary after years of intense use and will ensure a better reception and safer care," the AOU announced. The work, it is announced, "could cause inconvenience, for which the AOU apologizes in advance, particularly regarding the waiting times for non-urgent patients."
