Marco Congiu was returning to Pozzomaggiore, yesterday, around 5 pm, he was traveling on the Cossoine ring road aboard his BMW. The last moments of his life have yet to be rebuilt, the powerful German car lost grip for reasons to be clarified and with a crazy trajectory ended up in the embankment of the road that leads onto 131. Marco Congiu, 60, originally from Uta, is was thrown outside the cockpit and the BMW fell on him, crushing him. The man, an employee of Poste Italiane, died instantly. The very serious injuries and traumas all over his body left him no way out. It was some motorists who gave the alarm, after seeing the BMW in the embankment of the ring road.
Unnecessary help
The carabinieri and first responders arrived on the spot. However, no one noticed, at least in the very first moments, that under the car there was, unfortunately, the body of the victim of the accident. When Congiu was found, no attempt was made to revive him. A doctor ascertained the death and all activities began to reconstruct the accident.
The dynamics
According to what was revealed last night by the carabinieri, no other person was involved in the accident that cost Congiu his life. The man went off the road alone, there are no traces of the impact with other means or of the presence of other cars in the stretch of road where the tragedy took place. So several hypotheses are being examined by the personnel of the Arma. Congiu has lost control of his car, perhaps due to an illness or a fall asleep. But there may have suddenly been an obstacle in the roadway, such as an animal. Marco Congiu lived in Pozzomaggiore, where he had his family. He was the sole operator of the small post office in Giave.
