Along the state road 387, near via Cagliari in Sant'Andrea Frius, at around 5 pm, a car crashed into the wall of a private home. The driver of the vehicle, a Fiat Panda, was the parish priest of the town, Don Angelo Cardia, who was immediately rescued first by some bystanders and then by the 118 Mike ambulance from Senorbì. According to the accounts of some witnesses, the car - which was traveling at low speed since it was already in the town center - was seen going straight into the wall of a private home, causing some damage to the water pipe.
The causes of the accident are still unknown, with the Carabinieri of the Dolianova company who - rushed to the scene - are carrying out the necessary investigations to establish the causes of the incident . According to initial reconstructions, it should be a sudden illness, or a malfunction of the car, given that there are no signs of a possible attempt to brake on the asphalt and those present did not see any type of maneuver to straighten the car, close to the curve. The parish priest was returning from a visit to his trusted doctor in Sestu.
At the time of the incident, the injured person was conscious, but complained of some pain in his legs and back . He currently appears to have been transported to the Policlinico of Monserrato in red code. Fortunately, no other person is involved, despite a time where in Sant'Andrea Frius, right in that area, all the bars and a pizzeria are open where the villagers usually meet to eat a pizza to go or a beer, often staying outside the place, which appears to be immediately after the site of the accident.
