Winter returns to Italy and Sardinia .

Currents of icy air already in the very early hours of Sunday broke into the country, opening the doors to a particularly harsh meteorological phase . The cold air, reaching the Mediterranean Sea, has generated a cyclonic vortex that will not let go in the next few days.

According to Antonio Sanò, from the www.ilmeteo.it website, throughout the week Italy will have to deal with this cyclonic top that will dispense rain, storms, wind and even snowfall at very low altitudes , in some cases even in the plains.

The trajectory of the vortex now seems outlined, and starting from Sardinia it will move towards the central-southern regions.

Snow is expected on the island starting from 700-900 meters .

From Friday 3 March the high pressure should then bring the sun back to most regions , but with temperatures still more late in winter than in spring.
