Wind power: the front of the mayors and committees in Orgosolo
At the center of the meeting was a popular law proposal. Official data, meanwhile, confirm the assault on the islandPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The island rebels against the new wind energy servitude. The people of Saccargia meet in Orgosolo - today at 10.30 - to raise the bar of protest, right among the mountains and valleys that saw the great Pratobello revolt in 1969.
This time the mayor of Orgosolo Pasquale Mereu will lead it as host, together with the committees from all over the island and the representatives of the municipalities involved. "The initiatives to be adopted to give even more strength to the protest will be discussed", announces the mayor. «We will also discuss the popular initiative bill to block the assault on the island».
Yesterday the Green Transition Observatory of the economic newspaper "Il Sole 24Ore" made public the data of the projects planned in the name and on behalf of the wind multinationals. The figures are taken from Terna's report on the initiatives of a business that risks enriching a few, annihilating local populations, who would see themselves deprived of lands that have always been flourishing or of high historical-landscape value.
Terna's report refers to 11 requests for connection to the grid every 30 days (the reference is to photovoltaics and agrivoltaics) and one request every three days for systems with a power exceeding 10 Megawatts. If all requests were accepted, production in Sardinia would be 54.39 (actually 57.6) Gw, with a lot of excess energy to be exported (without any compensation for the island) where sun and wind are scarce.
