The people of Pratobello 24 , the popular initiative law against energy speculation in Sardinia, return to the streets.
The event is scheduled for February 6th at 10:30 a.m., with a sit-in in Cagliari in front of the Regional Government building on Viale Trento.
A demonstration to ask the Region to challenge the government's Legislative Decree 175, which regulates the regulations on areas suitable for the construction of renewable energy plants.
"A law that expands state power by encouraging the proliferation and implementation of projects presented by energy multinationals, further sacrificing Sardinian territory," a statement explains.
The organizers speak of a "unilateral and centralized action of usurpation of the prerogatives of the Sardinian region, enshrined in the statute and the constitution, through urban planning changes to the territory" and "a gigantic favor to speculators."
Furthermore: "We are faced with an authoritarian act that would deal a mortal blow to any action to combat and regulate devastating interventions through plants that would permanently transform agricultural and other areas into vast industrial zones . Faced with this heavy-handed government action, Regional President Alessandra Todde simply condemned the decree, announcing further countermeasures, in a simple, evidently cosmetic statement. Seventy days later, she hasn't lifted a finger. We expected an immediate challenge to the decree before the Constitutional Court and the initiation of a full-blown dispute with the State over these issues. Instead, so far, absolutely nothing has happened. A deafening silence. All of this is deeply worrying and unacceptable. The President, the Executive, and the Council must take action, waste no more time, and urgently adopt the resolution to challenge this unfortunate Legislative Decree 175 converted into law. There is no more time to waste," the statement concludes.
