Pratobello 26, the protection from the onslaught of renewable energy through amendments to municipal urban planning, failed to pass in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari . The Council of the intermediate body, which comprises the seventy administrations of the former province, rejected by a majority the center-right motion put to the vote on Monday.

"Massimo Zedda and his allies have thrown off their masks," thundered the signatories of the measure from the center-right. But there was no reaction from Campo Largo after the rejection. Meanwhile, the committees of Pratobello 24, the popular initiative bill designed to protect the island on a regional scale, are preparing for Friday's demonstration in Cagliari, given their participation in the general strike called by the USB: "We are bringing the issue of energy anti-colonialism into the national debate."

It took four months for the motion on Pratobello 26, with first signatory Roberto Mura , the Alleanza Sardegna group in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, was included on the agenda, also supported by Raffaele Onnis (Reformists) and Corrado Maxia (Brothers of Italy). "No one asked the Council to approve a law or replace the Region. Instead, we invited the majority to take an active role in protecting the territory and to concretely support municipalities in the face of the risk of energy speculation that could irreversibly compromise our landscape," explains Mura. "It was a matter of initiating a shared process to identify sensitive areas, protect agricultural land, safeguard coastlines and lagoons, enhance environmental heritage, and provide technical tools to local governments."
