Operating rooms and outpatient clinics were also open on Saturday at the Brotzu and Businco hospitals to launch the extraordinary regional plan to reduce waiting lists. The regional plan thus began in Cagliari: doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers were engaged in an additional day of work yesterday, with the participation of the regional president and health councilor, Alessandra Todde.
The plan, which also involves other health authorities on the island, has limited resources and should have a limited impact on waiting times, albeit slightly reducing waiting lists. Overall, the Region has allocated €7.6 million to finance additional services.
