Weather warnings remain in effect in Sardinia. The regional Civil Protection Department has issued a standard criticality warning (yellow code) for hydrogeological risk and hydrogeological risk due to thunderstorms, valid from 2:00 PM today, December 26, until 2:59 PM tomorrow, December 27.
According to the Decentralized Functional Center, the hydrogeological risk alert particularly affects the Iglesiente and Campidano areas, while the risk of thunderstorms affects the Flumendosa, Flumineddu, and Gallura areas, where intense and localized rainfall is expected.
The situation is being monitored constantly, but the Civil Protection Department urges citizens and administrations to exercise maximum caution, especially in the areas most exposed to flooding and critical issues along the minor river network.
Rain could cause traffic disruption, rising water levels, and difficulties in low-lying areas.
Among the main recommendations are the invitation to avoid basements or ground floors in case of heavy rainfall and not to cross swollen streams, underpasses, or areas near embankments and bridges, whether on foot or by vehicle.
