There are two young people from Orosei, both 23 years old, who ended up at the center of a complex investigation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Siniscola Company. Yesterday, the military notified both of them of a notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations, signed by the Public Prosecutor of Nuoro Sandra Maria Benedetta Picicuto.

The investigation began with the arrest of one of the two boys, accused of having committed an armed robbery in a supermarket in La Caletta last February 20. From that moment on, further investigations were launched that allowed us to reconstruct a much broader and more disturbing picture.

The investigations, in fact, have brought to light other serious episodes of crime, which would involve both young people in competition. The contested facts date back to a few months ago and outline a worrying escalation.
According to the reconstruction by investigators, on January 9, 2024, the two allegedly broke into a house in via Brefotrofio, in Orosei, by forcing a door. Inside, they allegedly stole two 12-gauge semi-automatic shotguns, legally owned by the owner. After the theft, the serial numbers of the weapons were altered, and then hidden in an isolated area in the countryside around the town.

A month later, on February 10, another particularly violent episode: the two, with their faces covered by balaclavas and armed with a gun, allegedly broke into a mini market in Orosei. During the robbery, the owner was hit in the head with the weapon. After overturning some crates of food, the robbers took about 500 euros in cash, before fleeing.
Thanks to a thorough investigation and the cross-referencing of various elements collected on the field, the carabinieri managed to connect the two young men to the various episodes.
