Nearly 100 people identified, 57 vehicles checked, three fines issued, and two businesses inspected. These are the figures from the extraordinary checks planned by the Carabinieri, the police, and the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police), following decisions made during the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security meeting, chaired by Prefect Salvatore Angieri, convened on February 3rd to curb the phenomenon of gun thefts from homes in the Marmilla area.
The major operation involved 20 police officers, 8 Carabinieri and two members of the Guardia di Finanza.
"This is a clear sign of the state's strong presence throughout the country, significantly deterring crime," the Prefect commented. "This operation reinforces the enforcement efforts routinely carried out by individual police forces to prevent and resolutely combat urban decay and petty crime."
