ENAS, Sardinia's water authority that supplies raw water to the Abbanoa water treatment plants, is carrying out extraordinary maintenance on the Mulargia/Flumendosa network, which supplies the raw water to the San Michele and Simbirizzi water treatment plants.
As a replacement, the alternative source coming from Cixerri has been gradually activated, but it has a different and worse quality, also due to the long period of inactivity of the transport networks.
Abbanoa technicians, according to a statement, have adopted and will adopt every precaution to avoid and reduce potential disruptions, but we cannot rule out temporary turbidity in the centers supplied by the San Michele and Simbirizzi water purification plants: Cagliari, Quartu Sant'Elena, Quartucciu, Selargius, Monserrato, Settimo San Pietro, and Maracalagonis. Quality controls have been increased accordingly. Normal operating conditions are expected to be restored starting Friday, December 5th.
