Macomer is suffering the severe consequences of the water crisis, with service interruptions every other day and nighttime closures. This emergency is worsening, with Mayor Riccardo Uda's drastic decision to issue an ordinance, following the recommendation of the Regional Civil Protection Directorate General, limiting the use of drinking water and banning its misuse.

This situation is linked to the drought, particularly affecting the Monteleone Roccadoria reservoir, which is now on the verge of drying up completely. Immediate solutions are being sought, including using water from local springs.

In this regard, the minority council group, "Macomer 2030," led by Luca Pirisi and Luciana Uda, released a statement. "We have launched a survey with a questionnaire to further investigate the state of the city's water reserves, highlighting the main critical issues and providing institutions with useful information to develop an emergency plan. The information gathered will be presented at the City Council meeting scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, November 18, during the discussion of the interpellation we presented to the mayor seeking details on the actions implemented by Abbanoa and the Municipality of Macomer."

For his part, the mayor simply stated that the question would be answered only at the next city council meeting. Meanwhile, the situation is becoming dire, with water restrictions affecting not only families but also, above all, various businesses (bars, restaurants, hotels).
