The injuries sustained in the accident on Christmas Eve were too serious and today Antonio Erdas, 80 years old from Villaurbana, died at the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari .

Yesterday morning the pensioner was returning from the mountain when on the provincial road near the Craba nuraghe he lost control of his Peugeot 207 . The car skidded and went off the road, overturning several times. The former janitor was trapped in the cockpit, the rescuers found him in desperate conditions : the 118 staff resuscitated him on the spot, then the Areus helicopter flight to the Cagliari hospital. Prognosis reserved and clinical picture hanging by a thread until this morning when Antonio Erdas ceased to live.

The news of his death caused deep emotion in Villaurbana, where the pensioner was known and respected; leaves behind wife and children .

The investigation of the accident was carried out by the Carabinieri, and the Oristano firefighters also intervened on site.
