Vast fire in the countryside of Villaspeciosa, over twenty hectares in ashes. The flames started just before 6pm from some stubble fields and, driven by the wind, quickly spread towards some areas planted with eucalyptus and cork trees.
To contain the fire, the Forestry Corps activated numerous teams of civil protection volunteers, the barracelli of Uta and the helicopter from the Pula base. The firefighters were also in action. The fire reached State Road 130, between kilometers 22 and 23, filling it with smoke.
To manage the safety of motorists, a police patrol intervened and slowed down the flow of cars until the smoke had completely cleared. The clean-up operations continued until late in the evening.
