He violated house arrest to burgle an elderly man's home. For this reason, Carabinieri officers from the Villasor station yesterday executed a pre-trial detention order against a 28-year-old Moroccan man, unemployed, married, resident in the town, and already known to the police.

The order, issued by the Court of Cagliari, stems from a request for an increased precautionary measure made by the Carabinieri themselves. The man was caught and arrested on February 25th in the home of a 93-year-old pensioner. The judicial authorities subsequently ordered the man to be placed in prison instead of house arrest.

The 28-year-old was taken to Uta prison.
