A sudden illness may have been the cause of this morning's work-related accident at a home in Villasimius. A sixty-five-year-old from Settimo San Pietro, the manager of a family business specializing in insulation work, was seriously burned in the face by the blowtorch he was using to finish work on the same home.

The man was working on the balcony with a worker from his company when he was hit by a flame, causing burns . The cause may have been a sudden illness, with the victim unable to control the gas torch.

The investigation has been entrusted to the Carabinieri of the Spresal and the Compagnia di San Vito. The injured man is now hospitalized at the Sassari burns center , where he was airlifted with a red code.
