A 44-year-old man, originally from Niger, was denounced for resisting a public official, after trying to beat up the carabinieri who intervened for a check at an Agip distributor in Villasimius.

The man had in fact been noticed by some passers-by, lying in a flower bed, in an evident state of drunkenness.

The military, after a report, intervened on the spot together with an ambulance of 118. But, instead of accepting help, the man suddenly got up and tried to slap one of the carabinieri. In the gesture, however, due to his precarious condition, he fell and hit his head on a wall.

At that point the 118 staff tried to convince him to be medicated, but the man went into a rage again, entering a hairdressing salon and starting to throw various objects at the military, in front of terrified staff and customers.

Eventually he was blocked and handcuffed. He was then placed on a stretcher, sedated and transported by ambulance to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, where he is still hospitalized.

As mentioned, the incident was reported to the Public Prosecutor of Cagliari.
