Up to four summer shuttle buses will operate in Villasimius this summer, along with an electric train between the port and the town center approximately every thirty minutes (purchase of the train is still being finalized). This is what the new agreement between the Municipality and the in-house company Villasimius Srl provides for the management of the shuttle service for the next four years.

According to the agreements, the lines will be increased from two to three to cover currently unused areas between June and September. The routes of the first two lines will also be revised. The introduction of the electric train will instead enhance the attractiveness of the marina by encouraging maritime tourism and, at the same time, shopping in the historic center.

The cost of the service is approximately €180,000, but "it does not result in any expenditures being charged to the institution's budget," according to the resolution approved by the City Council, "since the necessary resources come from the service's management activities, amounting to €81,612.45, and the remainder from the proceeds from ticket sales and season tickets for the paid parking management service already outsourced to Villasimius srl." The city administration is also working to find new areas for parking.
