A bridge has been closed for construction for over 500 days, and "there's still no end in sight." So the Villaputzu council minority, "Villaputzu Futura," is asking the Region for clarification.
"More than 500 days after the work began," minority councilor Stefano Pili emphasizes, "there's still no end in sight. In fact, if you look closely, the structural part of the bridge hasn't even been touched yet. Meanwhile, the Flumendosa River has stopped flowing, and the riverbed has become a vast, dusty track."
Pili emphasizes the immense damage this situation has caused to the local economy. "What is the Region doing," he asks? "Has the former Province and current Metropolitan City of Cagliari prioritized resolving this Third World situation?"
According to the latest timetable drawn up two months ago after yet another meeting between the Province and the company, the work is expected to continue for another year. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in August 2026. But once again, most residents are skeptical about the timeline: the work was originally scheduled to be completed in June of this year.
