A violent family argument that nearly turned into tragedy : this is what happened last night in Decimoputzu , where a 42-year-old local farmer was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of attempted murder.
According to initial investigations, the man surprised his brother while he was, for the umpteenth time, picking some vegetables from his land. What initially seemed like a trivial argument between brothers quickly escalated when the landowner showed up armed with a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun . The brother and his partner, who was also present at the time, then fled, managing to take refuge in their home and barricade the door before the man fired two shots . The shots passed through the door and lodged in the furniture inside , but fortunately, they did not hit any of the occupants.

At that point, the two victims alerted the Carabinieri, who were able to quickly track down the farmer at his home, where he was arrested and placed in safekeeping, with the rifle and ammunition, legally held, subjected to criminal seizure.

Once the incident had been reconstructed and the formal procedures completed, the man was taken to prison in Uta , where he remains at the disposal of the Judicial Authorities.
