One person was injured and a stretch of road was closed to traffic for hours. This is the result of a traffic accident this morning on State Road 125 in the Villaputzu area. A tractor-trailer and a car were involved.

The accident, according to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri who are conducting the investigation, occurred at kilometer marker 48. For reasons not yet determined, the two vehicles collided head-on. The driver of the car was the worst off, suffering injuries and being taken to the hospital in Muravera.

Due to the impact, the heavy vehicle stopped in the center of the carriageway, sideways, blocking it.

Firefighters, Carabinieri from the San Vito Company, who are conducting surveys, emergency medical services, and Anas personnel responded to the scene . The road has since reopened to traffic, although traffic delays remain.
