Tragedy on provincial road 27, between Tortolì and Villagrande.

Three Egyptian men , two aged 33 and one aged 36, died in an accident that occurred at 11.10 today near the S'Othai bridge, two kilometres downstream from the town.

The victims were three workers who had begun work a few days earlier on the bridge over the Figu Niedda River . Nearby residents remember them as "hard workers, quick and professional."

They were traveling towards Tortolì when the driver lost control of the car, a Golf 4, which fell 10 meters into the ravine.

Firefighter teams from the Lanusei and Tortoli detachments, the specialized SAF and SFA (river flood rescue) teams from the Nuoro headquarters, and divers airlifted by the Sardinia Fire Brigade's Flight Unit helicopter were on site. The bodies were recovered, not without difficulty. The Carabinieri are conducting the investigation, and Valentina Vitolo, the prosecutor on duty from the Lanusei Prosecutor's Office, is also on site.
