The worker who was involved in a work-related accident in the Villacidro industrial area on Friday morning is hospitalized with a critical prognosis.
The victim is Alessio Fiore, a 26-year-old employee of a local company. According to initial reports, he was cleaning a commercial warehouse when he accidentally stepped on a fiberglass panel, which gave way under his weight, causing him to fall approximately seven meters into the air. The impact caused him serious injuries.
After prompt intervention by rescuers, Fiore was stabilized and subsequently transferred by helicopter to Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari, where he was admitted.
Carabinieri officers from the Villacidro station and staff from the Local Health Authority's Spresal health service also arrived at the scene of the accident, launching investigations to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident and verify compliance with workplace safety regulations.
