The wine from the Sorso-Sennori winery received a gold medal and two bronze medals at the 2025 Vermentino Award.
The prestigious event, founded in 1994, is the longest-running dedicated to the grape variety and takes place every year in Diana Catello, in the province of Imperia, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture since 2020, the Liguria Region and the Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria, and the Municipality of Diano Catello.
The wines produced by the company led by Giacomo Baralla and Mariana Popa won the Lone d'Oro medal for the Vermentino "Prendas," the Lone di Bronzo medal for "Festhamanna," and the "Lamentu" medal . These three white wines also feature labels designed by the renowned Sassari artist Angelo Maggi, who passed away last year. These wines are expressions of a unique approach to winemaking, structure, and refinement, and originate in a region where the vineyards are surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean scrub, in close contact with the sea.
