A serious act of vandalism occurred overnight in Olbia. Someone, taking advantage of the darkness, broke into the building that houses the Middle School on Via Veronese. It's unclear whether it was one person or several, but the vandals turned on the faucets and activated the fire hoses inside the building, which is part of the Ettore Pais Middle School.
Water leaked for hours, flooding a large section of the building and numerous classrooms. This morning, staff assigned to reopen the school on Via Veronese were in for a surprise. The damage caused by the flooding is extensive. Cleanup and restoration work began immediately.
Classes were suspended today. Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the act.
