A man found in possession of over 100 grams of marijuana during checks by the Carabinieri of the Sassari provincial command was arrested.
It happened on the evening of Saturday, November 29, in Valledoria, during the traffic control and crime prevention services that the military engages in at the weekend.
Carabinieri officers from the local station arrested a man in flagrante delicto for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. At the checkpoint, officers stopped a car carrying the man, who was traveling as a passenger.
At the sight of the soldiers, he showed clear signs of nervousness and impatience, an attitude that prompted the Carabinieri to investigate further.
Following a personal search, he was found in possession of a transparent cellophane package containing marijuana inflorescences, with a total weight of approximately 100 grams, and a further cellophane package containing approximately 5 grams of a narcotic substance of the cocaine type , both well hidden on his person.
The investigation was then extended to a property owned by the man, and during the search, two perfectly functioning precision scales were found, artfully hidden inside a cavity in the suspended ceiling of the restroom. The drugs and the instruments used for weighing were seized, while the man was arrested and, by order of the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, which is directing and coordinating the investigation, he was placed under house arrest.
