Valentina Greco's family: "Enough with the rumors and insults on social media; she needs peace."
A note from lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli: "The mother is very upset. Now, silence. Any statement or news will be given only after we return to Cagliari."Valentina's parents
Enough insults and insinuations on social media against Valentina Greco, the 42-year-old from Cagliari who disappeared and was found after 9 days in the closet of her home in Sidi Bou Said , Tunisia, where she has lived for a few years.
Valentina's family, who after days of stress and anguish are waiting to be able to hug their loved one, are asking for it, relying on the lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli.
Valentina "was discharged from the hospital yesterday and, accompanied by her brother, returned to her home in Sibi Bou Said to regain her strength for the journey back to her family in Cagliari, where she will be able to receive full family support and treatment to overcome the intense stress of what happened to her," explains Piscitelli, the Sardinian representative of the Penelope association and now a lawyer who is advising the woman's family.
Since she was discharged from the hospital, "no one has asked her any questions" and even the Tunisian authorities "have given up on hearing her, dismissing the episode as a domestic accident and personal matter" .
However, public pressure is too great, and speculation (and insults) about the mysterious disappearance are multiplying on social media: "Mother Roberta," Piscitelli explains, "is very annoyed by the excessive speculation and even insults appearing on social media in the comments of the many articles and posts that have flooded the media in recent days. She has asked me to ask all press and TV outlets to grant a respite from the excessive media pressure that is fueling comments and morbid sentiment that are certainly detrimental to the much-needed psychological recovery of her daughter Valentina, who now reads everything, and to the peace of mind of the entire family, postponing any statement or news until after Valentina's return to Cagliari ."
