Uta, three-car crash on the Sp2: three injured, vehicles destroyed

Three cars were involved and destroyed, as many were reported injured, and two refused treatment. It was a scenario that, in the eyes of the emergency responders who arrived on the scene, foreshadowed the worst.

These are the numbers from the serious accident that occurred this afternoon on the SP 2 highway, not far from the Uta quarry. The exact circumstances are still unclear, but it's certain that two vehicles traveling toward Siliqua and one traveling toward Uta collided. The vehicles were a Fiat Marea, a Renault Kangoo, and a Ford Focus. One of them flew off the roadway and overturned.

Firefighters worked on the scene for a long time, with 118 emergency responders transferring the injured to the Santissima Trinità and the Policlinico hospital in Cagliari.

The Carabinieri of Decimomannu intervened to carry out the surveys, supported by their colleagues from Uta.

The removal of the carcasses took a long time and traffic was severely slowed down.
