A road approximately 250 metres long was opened illegally , with the consequent deforestation of a forest area of approximately 1,000 square metres.
This is what Forestry Corps personnel discovered in Uta , in a protected woodland area. Inspections revealed that the road had been opened without the necessary building and landscaping permits. Furthermore, the Mitza Fundalis water spring, which gives the area its name, had also been destroyed.

Following investigations, the alleged perpetrator, the owner of an earthmoving company, was identified.
The area was then seized and the business owner was charged with landscaping and building violations, crimes that carry a penalty of up to four years in prison.
