A clear, fire-written message addressed to a thirty-five-year-old man from Usellus. Last night, the unemployed man's Audi A3 was completely destroyed in a fire that, according to initial investigations, was arson. The Carabinieri of the Mogoro Company are investigating the incident.
The alarm was raised shortly after 1 a.m.: neighbors heard a loud bang and saw flames spreading to the car parked in front of the owner's home , in one of the alleys near Piazza Funtanedda in the town center. Shortly thereafter, the thirty-five-year-old also noticed what was happening. Firefighter crews from the Ales detachment arrived on the scene and worked extensively to put out the fire and secure the area.
Initial investigations suggest the fire was started by someone who then disappeared . Firefighters also conducted an inspection today to gather information that could clarify the cause of the blaze, which appears to have been started deliberately. Carabinieri officers from the Mogoro branch, awaiting the firefighters' technical report, have initiated further investigations to shed full light on the incident.
