Four Dutch tourists lost their bearings during a hike in the Supramonte mountains of Urzulei and were unable to return.

The alarm was raised shortly before 7 p.m. at the Nuoro Fire Brigade Operations Room, triggered by an SOS from an iPhone collected by an iPhone Italia center based in Piedmont.

The operator then transmitted the missing people's coordinates via SMS to the operators, who activated Drago143 of the Sardinia Flight Unit in Alghero and, together with the team from the Tortolì Fire Department, reached the group. The hikers were recovered with a winch and handed over to the Tortolì Fire Department team at a nearby lay-by.

Everyone was tired and scared but in good health, so medical intervention was not necessary.
