The alleged irregularities that occurred during the Uras City Council meeting on October 14th have now reached the offices of the prosecutor's office, as well as the desks of the Regional Department for Local Government, Regional President Alessandra Todde, Provincial President Paolo Pireddu, and Prefect Salvatore Angieri.

Citizens Laura Dessì, Elena Caddeo, and Maria Grazia Ibba, who attended the City Council meeting two weeks ago as members of the public, sent a document to various agencies on Monday evening. They first recalled that the meeting was convened without a quorum (five councilors plus the mayor). They also noted that, according to municipal regulations, the meeting is held at the time stated in the notice of the meeting and that the number of attendees is determined by roll call, with the entire document being recorded in the minutes.

The three signatories therefore get to the point and point out that what was published in the public notice board regarding what happened on October 14th does not correspond to the truth.

We read that at 6:00 PM, the first-call meeting in the meeting room was deserted. And that at 7:10 PM, the Council met in second-call, an urgent session. We wonder how it can be declared that the first-call meeting was deserted if the relevant officials did not appear in the chamber at the appointed time to proceed with the roll call and therefore verify what happened by drawing up the appropriate minutes. The three of us, the undersigned, were present, and another witness arrived shortly afterward. The secretary was absent from 5:55 PM until 6:30 PM. Given the sensitive situation our community is experiencing, we request clarity on the rules to be followed and, consequently, on the legality of the documents issued. We kindly request a prompt response. Twenty-nine days have passed since the resignations of seven city councilors, and to date, the Regional Department for Local Government has not yet issued a statement on the matter. We are astonished by this attitude; it is our right to know whether or not this municipal administration is entitled to represent us."
